Prozeta, a Czech technology company working with the Motol University Hospital, has developed software using 3D virtual reality for healing and diagnostic purposes. This innovative software helps identify the optimal rehabilitation protocol before and after the surgery for the cerebellopontine angle tumors, significantly increasing effective medical rehabilitation options for tumors of the vestibular apparatus of the brain.

Virtual reality for these patients is a new and highly promising method with great potential to extend the therapeutic and rehabilitation options for patients suffering from brain tumors. Prozeta’s youngest development team, consisting of Daniel Purš and Jakub Všetečka, worked on the software development project for the Motol University Hospital led by Assoc. Prof. Zdenek Cada, M.D., Ph.D., Doctor of the Department of ORL and Head and Neck Surgery, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, Motol University Hospital.

In virtual reality, it is possible to simulate real scenarios and thus influence the patient’s brain. Using Prozeta’s new software, patients are exposed to scenarios that simulate real situations where the patient is exposed to stress triggers, thereby increasing the effect of postoperative rehabilitation. The patient is exposed to these 3D computer simulations before the surgical procedure takes place.

Doctors at the Motol University Hospital will consult the results of this process before surgery, enabling them to implement appropriate rehabilitation measures and specify their indication criteria. The effect of this rehabilitation will be evaluated primarily using questionnaires, electrophysiological methods, and clinical neuro-otological examination.

“We are very pleased with the completion of the software for the Motol University Hospital. We are happy that Prozeta was able to give space to talented young IT professionals, who worked very closely and successfully with the Motol University Hospital,” said Jiří Purš, Prozeta CEO.
